Ein Deutsches requiem

Thank You for Joining Us for Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem

Saturday evening, 12 April 2025, will remain a truly special moment in our musical journey. As the final note of Ein Deutsches Requiem faded into stillness, the sense of shared emotion and unity lingered long after the applause ended.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us at the Uitsig Dutch Reformed Church in Bellville for this remarkable performance, presented by Con Spirito.

This event brought together passionate performers and appreciative listeners under one roof for an evening of deep reflection and beauty. We were proud and honoured to be a part of this collaboration alongside the Con Spirito Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cape Town Chamber Choir, under the skilled direction of Dr. Sjoerd Alkema.

A special thank you to the exceptional soloists:
🎙️ Antoinette Huyssen (Soprano)
🎙️ Conroy Scott (Baritone)
Your heartfelt performances brought Brahms’ vision to life in the most moving way.

To our fellow musicians, soloists, organisers, and everyone behind the scenes — thank you for the countless hours of preparation, dedication, and energy poured into this concert.

To our audience: your presence, enthusiasm, and warm support made this performance truly memorable. We are grateful for the opportunity to share such a profound piece of music with you.

The Tygerberg City Choir is deeply appreciative of the invitation to participate and perform. Collaborations like these are what keep the choral spirit alive — and we look forward to many more opportunities to make music together.

Until we meet again,
🎶 With gratitude,
The Tygerberg City Choir
