Last Night of the Proms

Last Night of the Proms is a much-loved musical extravaganza. It consists of popular and well known light classical music and songs.

The festival orchestra, together with massed choirs, will be conducted by the legendary Richard Cock, promising an unforgettable evening of music and celebration.

This year’s theme is “You’ve heard the bells now for the whistles“, setting the tone for a lively and interactive experience.

There will be audience participation, and patrons are encouraged to bring a whistle and join in the fun as the evening builds to its rousing finale

A Tygerberg City Choir Gala Concert

The Tygerberg City Choir is filled with gratitude as we look back on our Gala Concerts, “As Long As I Have Music…”, held on 3 August 2025 in Parow North and 17 August 2025 in Strand.

Both performances were moments of celebration, artistry, and unity. Standing before audiences who welcomed us so warmly was a reminder of why we sing: to share the joy of music and to create connections that words alone cannot express.

Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem

Saturday evening, 12 April 2025, will remain a truly special moment in our musical journey. As the final note of Ein Deutsches Requiem faded into stillness, the sense of shared emotion and unity lingered long after the applause ended.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us at the Uitsig Dutch Reformed Church in Bellville for this remarkable performance, presented by Con Spirito.

Our Summer Gala Concert performances at NG Kerk Bellville-Wes and Bishops Chapel, Rondebosch, were nothing short of magical! From the harmonious voices of the Cape Town Male Voice Choir to the powerful performances by the Stadskoor Tygerberg City Choir, the evening was a celebration of music, unity, and community.

SONGS OF PRAISE

The City of Tygerberg Choir would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our recent Songs of Praise concert. Held in honour of conductor Richard Cock’s 75th Birthday and featuring a beautiful array of choral and instrumental pieces, the concert was a night filled with soul-stirring harmonies and joyous celebrations. 

It was a privilege to perform for such an enthusiastic audience, whose presence and applause made the evening truly special.
